Elderly people’s faces have so much soul! I just love drawing them!

A lifetime of experiences that speak for itself

I really enjoy drawing older people. There’s some kind of rawness that you don’t have in young people. You can in their faces the years of wisdom accumulated. You can tell someone is a grumpy old man because over the years the frustration left their marks, the same as you can tell a nice old lady has a big heart and laughed a lot. Life leaves it’s trace and I think that’s beautiful!

I enjoyed drawing this lady. I used my Ohuhu markers and maybe some leftover touch markers as well. To fit the theme I added the man chilling by the beach with his gut out and his hands behind his back. This feels like a real life scene!

Fancy sir drawn with ink pen

Another perk of drawing older people is that I can use ink pen without worries and it always look good! I have fun drawing this gentleman here with my ink pen casually. Not worrying about my lines being too thick because that is what you want here , you want character.

So that’s it for today! I’m trying to convince myself that it’s okay to post small posts more often than to stress about making a super nice one but posting once a month. I want to use this blog as some kind of public diary for the people who are interested in the thoughts of little Vanllem. I had to remove the comments because I get hit with so much spam, it’s not fun lol. So feel free to reach out to me on my socials! 🙂
